I always consider this scary. My father-in-law was an Army officer in the early 1950s. He was had to server on a military jury. The commanding officer ordered the jury to find the defendent guilty.
My FIL voted “not guilty." The CO demanded to know why. My FIL explained, the CO said the jury would vote again and should not vote "not guilty.”
I hope US military justice has improved in the past 70 years, and I’ve know military lawyers who I respect. But I'm still nervous.
