Good question. As an engineer and a parent, my experience tells me that feedback is essential in any system aiming to achieve results. Yes and no, positive and negative, are two sides of the same coin. Neither should be especially sought after nor rejected, it's just steering data. Telling your kid just yes or no all the time is out of balance. If such feedback is administered in the spirit of it being in everyone's best interest, I don't see a problem. Give feedback with love!
