Dec 10, 2024 @ 11:55 (!) I did it! Got my morning updates done here (though I haven't shared them to the other platforms yet) before noon! YAY! Anyway, good morning family & friends❣️ Gray and cloudy again, but no rain - no snow - and expected high in the lower 40s and becoming partly sunny. Not going anywhere today, WAY too much to do, now that I have to deal with this file situation. Truth be told my laptop has been getting a little glitchy lately anyway, so I will backup whatever I need to backup (not much, that's why I keep my files on the card), format, and reinstall my linux from a fresh download. My plans today were just to do laundry and make dog food, I can work on the computer stuff at the same time if my brain will cooperate; it isn't a fan of multi-tasking these days! I just put the PoiBoiz back in their cages so that I can get busy at the back of the house as soon as Pete wakes up from his nap in the bedroom. Meanwhile I've got a turkey breast roasting that, once it cools, will go into the dog food pot. Anyway in updating the daily holiday part of this page this morning, I wondered if kids even still use that system, or if everything has become so computerized that it is obsolete? That would be sad...as a kid who biked to the library at least once a week to bring home a new stack of books, "dewey" was one of my best friends. Is it used on computers now that there are no card cataloges left? Speaking of libraries, there are some big beautiful ones here in our new area that I can't wait to explore! We drive past them and I make mental notes of where they are (which I promptly forget anyway hahaha) so that we can go back, but they look wonderful! Libraries have been some of my favorite places throughout my life, and that I can no longer read books doesn't really make a difference, I still love to wander around and look, open the occasional book and read snippets, or just look through the beautiful photography books that I love!
