GrapheneOS themselves admit they can't offer actual security. GrapheneOS devs have made statements many times in many places like "if you use GrapheneOS to commit crimes it cannot protect you from police surveillance" etc
However, they don't like to make people aware of this topic, because their whole operation is a honeypot. They don't want you going looking for these statements, they hate when they're socially cornered and forced to make statements about this stuff.
They banned me from their official chats for trying to raise awareness about hardware backdoors, so what I say every time is, go in the GrapheneOS official chat rooms linked from their websites, know what a hardware backdoor is, and correct any false statements you see. Watch what happens. There's a good chance you will be banned because you know what a hardware backdoor is and you're mentioning it in response to a lot of false statements.
You could also try asking them why they banned me, and continuing to press that issue until either you are banned, or I am unbanned, or there is proof that having me banned is a good choice.
You could also skip all that and just at least mention the 7 years of updates every time you recommend a Pixel, to help create pressure on all phone makers to extend update windows (there's only a 2 year window for the Redmagic 9S owned by me and the other person you replied to)
