I've experienced decades of being dehumanised and deprioritised for being on a bicycle. I've seen years of UK columnists/media dehumanising people on bikes. I've pointed out that "safety" clothing doesn't have strong evidence for being safer (and requirements for helmets disuade people getting on bikes). I've observed that drivers who also cycle are generally more considerate and better around bikes.
