One thing I’ve noticed in all this AI business is the number of faculty who seem…heartbroken is the wrong word, but something like it? They saw or suspected far more cheating than they expected—still a minority of students, but more than expected—and this is not who they thought these students were. This isn’t just a technological, ethical, or pedagogical issue. It’s personal and psychological, and it operates in both directions.
