compared to google photos my self-hosted nextcloud sucks... even though I have all thumbnails pre-generated they are slow to load. I think it's because they are scattered around the HDD; I need them on a fast ssd.

fortunately it's not looking so hard to deal with these days... man i could store all the originals on this. I wonder if that will resolve the performance issue
