There's a post at the top of HN titled "The looming demise of the 10x developer" which argues that programming nerds who are autodidacts who love programming are better programmers and that this was a temporary, generational, artifact, so 10x programmers will be no more and therefore X/Y/Z.
Naturally, there's a lot of disagreement, but I haven't seen anyone write up the reasons I disagree, which (IMO) are more fundamental than the reasons people are giving.
