I get bits from the quarterly payouts, which is helpful, but I’m quite suspicious of the national funding stuff (same with Arts Council and there’s really good book called “Culture Is Bad For You” in that area) but, that said, some local funds really step up in their place. Mike Howley Trust on the Isle of Wight was how I was able to finish “Gilded Cage” and it was done through Quay Arts. They were fantastic, but you have to be a resident and under 30.
