Why I love photography forums.
"I'm going to [wherever] in 2 weeks, doing hiking and want to shoot waterfalls, celestial, landscapes, street, flowers, and maybe some macro. What lenses should I bring? I'm thinking my 16-50 and 50-150 or maybe my 55-200 zooms, and I might want to shoot birds so I really ought to bring my 150-450 too, but it's big and heavy. Should I pick up a 100mm or 200mm macro lens? I also realized I need something for low-light too that would also work for street photos so I can save some weight, so would it be better to bring my 50mm 1.4, or would the 70mm 1.8 be better? I'm bringing two camera bodies so I don't have to swap lenses as much, but I'm thinking about a third. Thoughts on that? And can anyone recommend a travel tripod for the star shots? Definitely want carbon fiber that extends from 6" to 144" tall and weighs less than an ounce. And also a chiropractor for when I get home? Thanks."
Then 50 replies with a whole set of other/additional lenses to bring, like: "I hate zoom lenses so I would bring my 8, 14, 24, 35, 50, 85, 100, 135, 150, 200, 300, and 500mm primes plus some extension tubes and teleconverters. Don't forget your polarizer!"
