Just remembering that on holiday my husband described his job as "pharma" and now my extended family thinks that he is a farmer. Which is why you should be aware of your audience and their likely frame of reference when answering a question.
(I usually just say he does drugs for a living. Or maths. It's kind of both. Maths and drugs. He would make a terrible farmer).
