Okay I realise now that the reason I rag on people for being on mastodon.social is this: you’re choosing to be on a space with no effective anti-hate moderation system.

All of the anti-trans, pro-Russia, libsoftiktok-loving crap comes from there. Why? Because there are far too many users to moderate.

Smaller servers infected by the far-right can be blocked and hate-targets like me are then safe from them. But I can’t pre-block mastodon.social without losing lots of people that I follow.
