It was a cold November evening. My son and I had been out running errands and were ready to get home and settle in for the night. It was dark as we pulled into the driveway. We gathered up the groceries we'd bought and as we walked to the front door we were talking about the homework he needed to finish up. We went inside and I turned on a light near the dining table. As the light hit the wall I was startled to see a shadow seemingly run across the wall and into my bedroom.
For weeks I had seen something dark out of the corner of my eye. I had chalked it up to my rimless glasses as they sometimes caught the light and caused what looked like odd movement in my peripheral vision. This time was different. I was looking straight ahead. Not the corner of the eye.
As I was trying to register what I had seen I hear my son, "You saw that too, didn't you?" I asked what he'd seen. He told me he had seen what looked like a tall person's shadow move across the wall and into my room. I told him I'd seen the same thing and asked him if he'd seen it before, He said, "I've been seeing it for weeks." I was surprised he hadn't said anything and I asked why he hadn't mentioned it. He shrugged and said, "He was going in your room and not mine", then he laughed. I just shook my head and said, "Gee thanks! Good to know you have my back", and laughed, too. We still see him from time to time and yes, he still goes into my room.
