I said to someone once in conversation that tmoney was the root of all evil. She said, the love of money is the root of all evil, and was kind of offended that I got it wrong. It was like she felt she had to defend money. It was a nothing conversation, but I always thought it was interesting how she seemed to be offended that I was somehow disrespecting money. How can money ever be evil?

That's an idea that exists in the US, at least. That you have to respect money. Don't talk bad about money. Don't destroy money - ever. Take care of the physical currency and think happy thoughts about money because money is what makes us happy. You can't be rude to happiness, can you?

This is why I think we may all have been born into a fucked up cult but because we've all lived in it our entire lives, we have no idea that we're in a cult.
