When J-M's fate was in the oncology ward’s hands, and I was already doing everything I could do to help him make it through treatment, the principle around which my brain rewired itself was: higher morale has a statistically significant positive effect on prognosis. I put everything I had into keeping him in good cheer however I could, because I knew that might really be the difference to saving his life.
And that's why I feel compelled to exist here with hope and to point towards happiness. We're all in big trouble together, and keeping up our spirits might become a difference maker between serious outcomes.
