2) cancer occurs because of dysfunction in key gene classes including tumor suppressor genes. Humans & chimps have different expression of these.
3) chimps have different length & regulation of telomeres—“shoelace caps” that protect DNA from “fraying” after cell divisions.
4) chimps live to ~40 years. The median age of cancer diagnosis in humans is 61 years old.
Oh — and humans are NOT chimps.
