I once read a blog called “she hates my futon”. It may still be out there but at the time it was the best writing I had ever read. It proved to me that any human story can be conveyed in a compelling fashion regardless of the quotidian nature of its contents. Human stories are our stories. It explains a lot of the tremendous interest in hyperbolized “reality” television. I don’t begrudge those who enjoy it. The story of people dealing with people is all our story.
