It's stir it up Sunday today, the traditional day to make your Christmas puddings and mincemeat. I usually make a Christmas cake in September, but have decided this year to make Nigella's Chocolate Fruit Cake, which doesn't require advanced prep or feeding, so this year seems like a good time to try.

My nana always made the family Christmas pudding, right up until she went into a hospice. She died five years ago this month, and I know my dad misses her...and her puddings.

So, providing I can get hold of a pudding dish, that'll be me today. Puddening. Puddin'. Of the Puds.
