Today: dealing with the care of my father, whose dementia is bad enough he forgets his own house is his own and gets angry people won't take him home, but whom the doctors say is "competent" and can't be placed under guardianship.

We will bring in a lawyer and try to get him to sign Power of Attorney documents, but I suspect the lawyer will say "he's not competent," and we'll be stuck.

Meanwhile, his care giver (my sister) abandoned him in the hospital and won't take him home.
