I agree that this is the definition of slavery. Which also means that i'm a slave to the human condition, which i never consented to either, at least not in a form that i currently can be conscious about.
Maybe it is this mixing of very abstract definitions with concrete politics that i find objectionable in the article. The author takes very abstract definitions and wants to talk on a concrete layer about politics.
What good does it do to complain about us being slaves to the concepts of nation-states (groups, power), needs and the weather, if there's no solution presented to change these conditions?
Anyway, i'm just enjoying myself here thinking out aloud maybe 😉 so of course i might easily be wrong ...
