A lichen-covered Silurian siltstone "erratic" boulder carried and dumped by an ice age glacier on Carboniferous limestone. The boulder has protected the underlying hard but soluble limestone from erosion, leaving it on a pedestal. Norber, Yorkshire Dales, UK.
Some of these erratics are candidates for an engraving.
