More autumn fruits: japanese barberry (Berberis thunbergii). These edible by humans, but they don't have much taste. They're also a problematic non-native species here, and they've spread to cover much of the land adjacent to our creeks. It's not surprising that they spread so readily, since they make a lot of berries.
