I don't print much nowadays, but the first thing I'd check for when buying a printer is what kind of scummy lock-in tactics the manufacturer might be resorting to. (Inkjet printers were always a low-margin industry and people don't buy them as much anymore, so the companies are even more grubby and desperate than usual)
