For GTK4 they announced they were going to just rip out the entire accessibility framework because doing so will force people to develop one they like more. They backed down, but didn't actually update it to work with GTK4 very well.

Also I still haven't forgiven them for removing the ability to change the font size from the base install. They have a checkbox for 'large text' but it just bumps it up two point sizes and you can't make it do anything else.
