I am very optimistic about a Harris run for structural reasons. My understanding of the Republican disinformation machine is that it benefits from extremely long election cycles and main-character syndrome. You can't just come out against a fresh candidate and say "she eats human children"; even the conservative base will be skeptical of that sort of overt, baseless, extreme accusation.
