This is the challenge for the radical green left in trying to work with centrist liberals. Even those who style themselves "centre-left" take a huge amount of convincing to pull away from corporatist dogmas (what some academics call "neoliberalism"). But without constant effort to remove the scales from their eyes, they just drift back to the centre-right.
We've seen it with Hipkins, we're seeing it with Starmer, and now I'm hearing it from Campbell and Stewart.
