Haven't watched it yet (it is on my list) but I'm hoping you took the opportunity to remind people that DOS application developers tried out a range of different user interface paradigms before Windows came along.
And that there were many programs that used a text mode but with the box drawing characters to present moveable, resizeable client windows.
But usually the MDI applications.
Still have vivid memories of the Borland Pascal DOS IDE as a classic example from Uni.
