Agree with the sentiment of banning US Big Tech, if not the excruciatingly poor government implementation. And to a degree, every user choosing Mastodon over the current commercial alternatives is performing a personal ban which is probably how it should be.

United States is the source of all this trash, exploitative, manipulative, privacy destroying social media and malware and it's only going to get worse. Cutting it from the web like a metastatic cancer is not a goal to be dismissed out of hand.
