yes, the deal with germany shutting down nuclear is not either/or. but keeping the working nuclear plants and working on replacing coal first with renewables (or replacing nuclear directly with equivalent renewable capacity, if that's your deal), would be better than shutting down all nuclear production with no actual plans leading to the remaining energy being bought from neighbors and replaced with coal, which just leads to more suffering in general
