this is probably the first, and the last time I will say this in a cryptographically provable note that can never be deleted.

this topic is hard for me to engage in, because unlike clients, relays are where the data is stored. they will be and are, the targets of many vectors of malicious behavior from state actors and the entire internet. vectors that clients have given almost zero thought to.

so, there are things i wont talk about here but my general sentiment is other relay operators feel the same and ultimately because of this, nostr NIPs are having a hard time keeping up with real world scenarios in this area.

you dont discuss the details of your plans with the enemy, and quite literally nostr is heading directly toward the front line.

I must say that, even if i were to talk to some main client devs about what we need, they dont care, they assume there will always be a relay somewhere to use however they want. spoiler: not really.
