UK gov is proceeding with plans to outlaw public bodies (NHS, schools, councils etc) and critical infrastructure orgs from paying ransomware groups, and barring other private companies from paying certain ransomware groups - also requiring in law all payments be disclosed to government.

I think this is a massive step forward and fully support - we should try changing things up instead of doing nothing but fund serious organised crime.
