one of the weirdest things about cis people is that even when talking about another cis person, if the person has chosen a name for themself, the others refer to their government-name as "the real name". as if government is the force that brings the immanent into the phenomenal. any names not granted by the government are declared unreal: they're "pseudo"-nyms, "stage" names, the stuff of drama and dreams. government is thus granted the power of manifesting will into reality—and of dissolving reality into fiction.
