Sounds like they're going to throw the pilot in command under the bus, but more importantly I wonder if the company came up with safety procedures or has a safety officer to take on these responsibilities?
The light show guys I met were basically a two man operation with a few helpers.
I wouldn't say that these companies need United Airlines level of safety procedures but I think it would be helpful to spend time imagining what might happen and planning for it.
