Now, that said, this isn't COMPLETELY different from the situation with film and other analog photography. Yes, your old (and cared for) negatives can likely still be printed. But your workflow may get badly disrupted.

The last straw for me with large-format film was the when Polaroid 55 was discontinued. I really understood the medium, and my whole workflow was built around it. Then, *poof*.

Depending on commercial vendors for your art comes with built-in risks, whether digital or not.
