there's a difference between occasionally checking social media, which one could do while generally working productively and logging on to play a serious online video game.

As I was thinking about writing this thread, I dropped into an online boardgame session for a discord I'm in and an accountant was playing while working from home; simultaneously, chatting, playing boardgames, and reconciling errors in client records! I'm better than most at multitasking and I wouldn't even consider that.
