Pink time, softer violets and pinks of muted sunset passed, the drapes closed long ago. I made a potato salad with left-overs, mayo & paprika, pepper and dill make good seasonings. Gathered tinder from dead sticks on pinions, dumped ash, did a hand wash, cleaned cat box, swept, made beans. It got up to 40ºF/4.4C. The sun was bright and warm and it was pleasant to be such a simple person hobbling around, breaking off dead sticks, this simple task solving the complex problem of keeping warm.
