I had recently been having a nice private conversation on Mastodon with a friend. We came upon a time where I wanted to be supportive about a certain topic, so I searched my memory banks. I heard the term "you do you", and I thought that was a very nice way of saying "you do what is right for you". So imagine my surprise when she was very offended that I would say something so awful to her.

It is so hard to talk with a neurotypical, even if you try to follow their pattern of using a term that has an expanded meaning in the grand tradition of masking.
