My conspiracy take is that "Pro" consoles exist exclusively to have an excuse ready for when games run like crap on the base model, despite whatever promise they made just a couple years prior. Also, so that reviewers are more lenient if the game runs poorly on the base model (and the topic is given a smaller space) and advertising through content creators looks better than what the average user will actually get.
