On my last travel, since I'd be out for long periods of time without access to a charger, I decided to put my phone in power saving mode. I was amazed at how much more it lasted; an entire day of heavy usage of it, including maps, internet, photo and video shooting, and at the evening I'd still have more than 50% battery remaining.
It's been almost a month since I came back, and I haven't switched back. Battery lasts for days (a miracle in the smartphone age), and I see no performance issues.
