Just because a man plays as female characters in video games doesn’t mean he’s actually a transgender woman.

If that were true, I’d be transgender—and I assure you I’m not.

So many of my favourite video games feature female protagonists: Metroid, Tomb Raider, Mirror’s Edge. And not once have I ever thought, “I’m playing this game because I want to be her.”
