I took Auto Mechanics at Corona del Mar HS in the 80s where I took apart 3 engines and put them back together so they ran. I can't do shit on my truck and it's a 2006. I can't even imagine a new car. Based on my personal experience driving all types of vehicles in all types of weather and conditions, I 100% agree with both of your points.
