For the first time since 2012, I used torrent, purchased an album in MP3 format, and downloaded a Winamp-like music player. And it wasn't due to nostalgia; I'm not a fan of living in the past. Instead, it's because, in many ways, older technology is simply superior to the venture-capital-backed, customer-hostile walled gardens that dominate the new tech landscape.
