Now Syria is that wild west where every power center aligned with Empire is trying to take a bite out of
* Empire's Free Syrian Army
* Empire–West–Turkey backed ex-al-Qaeda factions (that toppled Assad)
* Turkey backed Syrian National Army (not sure if this group is working with previous group)
* Entity
* Rojava (only group with some legitimacy)
May be more actors are there (I dont know the exact configuration right now, but these actors are major actors)?
Everyone trying to grab a portion of Syria for themselves. Entity is the external actor, rest have some grounding in community, but are proxies — except Rojava which has legitimacy.
Entity, Empire & Turkey are stealing Syrian land (directly/via proxies), all the while Empire–Entity combo are destroying defensive & offensive capabilities across Syria incl sea fleet, arms factories, weapon depots, many other important places, so they can create many vassal states of Entity–Empire combine in this area (other than whatever land Entity steals by the end), so they can pit one Syrian group against against another, also destruction of defensive & offensive capabilities to ensure they cant protect themselves from Imperial Empire–Entity–West's aggression, which is what West engages in — if any group in the area tries to operate autonomously from Western Imperialist exploitation.
That's Western Imperialism for you. Thats why they are so "concerned" about Women's rights, LGBTQ rights & every other rights in our 3rd world. So, they can continue the more naked theft by colonizing & ethnic cleansing (or) theft via slightly indirect method of imperialism.
As those in West used to ask: Why do they hate us?
Empire's NGOs, "activists" & "journalists" used to give the following answer:
Because they are jealous of how "free" we are, because how advanced our "culture" is, or because of their religion or some other shit like that. They avoid talking about the material crimes committed against people in West Asia, as speaking about them makes everyone understand underlying injustice & the justified reasons for the hate those in West Asia have. But if they make you understand reality, how can they make you hate those you never met — even tho they did no wrong to you? That's why we have Imperial propaganda networks (Reuters, AP, BBC, CNN, WP, NYT, Guardian, …) aka "journalists" to "educate" peasants in West with "correct" view point on why everyone should hate people in that region (or) people from Muslim faith in general.
