Fun problem when upgrading to Debian Bookworm today: Some of the upgraded packages require zstd compression, but the package version that provides that isn't available in Debian Bullseye, and the upgrade process attempts to install the packages using zstd before updating zstd.
Luckily I knew how to update zstd on its own, but this isn't mentioned in the documentation as far as I can see.
(it's on a RPi, so perhaps it's specific to Raspbian or ARM)
