Carbon capture is a sketchy proposition, at best. There is no way to think it will be cheaper to suck carbon out if the atmosphere than it is to simply not put it there in the first place.
If it is too have any gains, it has to be used in addition to widescale reduction in fossil fuels. That will certainly not happen when the fossil fuel industry is designing the systems, which more and more just become a way to promote business and usual (aka profits for Big Oil).
