You don’t think the US has rural communities? Dude we have more of them than Canada has people...by a long shot. You have more land but we are just as rural but with even more people. Take your problem and just multiply it out.

We have programs where the federal government sends money to the states too. But it’s still very federally run and that’s the problem. The regulations they tie to that money just mimics the problem of the regulations put on private insurance that causes rates to go up.

Maybe your system is fantastic and that’s great…enjoy it. But you can‘t port it here. I have zero faith in the ability of the US Federal government to run health care better than what we have, warts and all. The kind of reforms that would be needed are politically viable. Sane tort laws would be a big help. Not going to happen. Too many vested interests in suing here. We just don’t want the government even more up our asses than they already are.
