Sheldon Chang 🇺🇸 (npub1h57…tx00) this isn't a problem specific to TikTok though, it is a problem with all corporate owned social media (which in the US, "corporate owned" may as well just be "state owned" at this point), like Facebook and Twitter. The difference is that TikTok propaganda may be directed against different people, Taiwan as opposed to Palestine, for example.
And the fact that Nicholas Kristof only points out the harm from Chinese propaganda but not US propaganda, or even honestly discussing the larger problem of "no one should be subject to propaganda," just goes to show how dishonest Kristof is about his phony concern over this issue.
