Another regular pattern in replies on social media (both here and on Bluesky) is when I post something that’s nothing more than an article headline and a URL to an article that’s written in largely neutral “both sides” language

So so so many of the replies imagine all sorts of commentary on my part in a post that literally had no commentary. And they respond to points they imagine to be in the linked post which aren’t there at all.
