This is pretty weird! Phil Plait (npub1nt7szvkpuewudvs9qtcthez4cr3m6mt2v5erjtw6s5fnf0xwm3equ9z00k (npub1nt7…z00k)) wants to rewrite a paragraph in the new print of his book, to fix a mistake. To avoid the new paragraph from pushing other text to a new page, his publisher asks that the new paragraph be the exact amount of characters as the old one. Characters! The old paragraph was 692 characters, the new one must be 692 caharcters too.
That'd work perfectly for monospace fonts, but does this make sense for regular, proportional fonts?
