I have a friend whose mother was diagnosed with late stage cancer a few years ago. Within a couple of weeks she called the whole family together and she went through the MAID process. They spent a little time together, she drank some poison, went upstairs, laid in bed , and died. I’ve long been in favor of MAID or death with dignity, or assisted suicide for terminal patients, but I was shocked at how sudden it was.
